Demonstration to protest against Donald Trump’s presidency will take place in Edinburgh tomorrow

A demonstration to protest against Donald Trump’s presidency will take place in Edinburgh tomorrow.

Hundreds are expected to march from the Foot of the Mound to the Scottish Parliament in response to Trump’s order to halt the US refugee programme and to impose a 90-day travel ban for nationals from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

The march will take place from 6pm and organisers say they want to show solidarity with similar protests in America against “racist and xenophobic ban on Muslims announced by Trump.”

In a Facebook post, organisers of today’s protest wrote:
“End Trump’s Muslim Ban! Cancel the State Visit! Refugees welcome here! Trump out of Scotland!”

The march comes as more than 494,000 people signed an online petition calling for an invitation to Donald Trump to make an official state visit to the UK to be rescinded.

The petition, created by Graham Guest, attracted significant interest just a few hours after it was created today.

Calling for the official state visit to be prevented, it cities ‘Donald Trump’s well documented misogyny and vulgarity’ as a reason to disqualify him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales.

 It reads:
“Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK in his capacity as head of the US Government but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen”.
The government responds to all petitions that garner 10,000 signatories.

    1. I have a lot of American friends. Even the one who are pro guns and capital punishment are against this move. And that’s saying something. Media can’t mess with live coverage of the bile that comes out of his mouth and they certainly arent messing with his tweets (seriously somebody take that away from the child). Don’t be a conspiracy nut, not everything is a cover up or a framing job. This man is a complete psychopath who yes, the entire world has to sorry about. Why? Because we live on the same planet. Which he’s happy to screws over for money. Because we all want to love in peace and he creates chaos in a matter of days for all of us. Because he has access to powers he shouldn’t have that could affect us all. I wouldn’t give im a tv remote! Every human on this planet deserves peace equality and safety. Regardless of race religion gender or background. This new law was questioned , on whether it was lawful, somebody tried to at least halt it till it was checked out, go see if you can find out what happened to that person. Try to find the ‘truth’. This man doesn’t belong anywhere near the UK.

  2. There’s no point commenting here because if your comment does not go with the view of the media then it will not be posted online, which is very biased and one sided and actually very immoral !!!
